With this Panasonic Lumix with a 25-400 Leica lens and a one inch 20 megapixel sensor, we put the spotlight here on the bridge cameras and the incredible value for money they offer, besides their versatility.
To photograph the Mercedes A 180 in our latest test on my website autoprova.be, we used the latest acquisition to our stable of camera’s, the camera you see here above and below, a second hand Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ-1000.
The Lumix DMC FZ-1000 has a metal body, which lies very nicely in your hand, an articulating screen, and an excellent, very crisp viewfinder. The finish is top notch.
Indeed, as you might have read on my Instagram page @autoprova.be, after my positive experiences with the equally used Fujifilm Finepix S100 FS, a 28-400 mm bridge camera which we bought for the proverbial song, some…70 Euros, I added this week the Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ-1000 to my stable. I found it in pristine condition, no user marks whatsoever, at a very attractive price, well below …300 Euros.

Offering a 20 mp sensor, 4k video, and last but not least a Leica Vario Elmarit aspherical f 2.8-4.0 25-400 mm lens, it certainly has what it takes to convince the most serious photgrapher. The screen can be articulated, is crisp with also the digital viewfinder having an excellent definition.
The camera was bought at Grobet Photo at Eiermarkt 25, in the center of Antwerp, as are virtually all my cameras by the way. The team offers excellent service and advice…
Bridge cameras are certainly worth looking at. As we said , they offer versatility and formidable value for money. And even more than a decade after its introduction, the results are excellent. Look at the photos made by the Fujifilm Finepix on my website Autoprova.be, in the test of the Mazda CX 60 Skyactiv, or the Nissan Juke…
This Lumix has indeed also got what it takes. Look at the photos on my website autoprova.be of the A 180 Mercedes.
By the way, did you know that there is a sister camera with exactly the same sensor, lens and camera body, which goes through life as the Leica V-Lux 5?

Seeing the body taken also from above, one sees clearly the family resemblance between the Leica and the Lumix DMC FZ-1000.
The camera body lies very good in your hand, the articulating screen lets you compose wonderfully and the Leica zoom lens is as you could expect beautifully crisp… we are discovering still all the possibilities of this camera, which we will take from now on as our favorite workhorse to make the car photos for my website Autoprova. So stay posted for our further findings of this camera!
